Services

Trade Wave Tech Ltd offers the following services: Purchasing of used electronic devices, including but not limited to phones, tablets, and laptops. Data wiping services for all devices we purchase.

Eligibility

To engage in transactions with us, you must be at least 18 years old or have the permission of a legal guardian. By selling a device to us, you represent that you are the rightful owner or have the authority to sell the device.

Selling Your Device

When you sell a device to Trade Wave Tech Ltd: You must ensure that the device is in your lawful possession and free from any liens or encumbrances. You are responsible for removing any personal data from the device before selling it to us, although we will also perform a thorough data wipe. We reserve the right to refuse any device that does not meet our standards or appears to be stolen or tampered with.

Device Blocking

By selling your device to Trade Wave Tech Ltd, you agree not to block the device after the sale is completed. If the device is blocked or reported as lost or stolen after the sale, we reserve the right to pass your details on to a debt collection agency to recover any losses incurred.

Data Wiping

We will perform a complete data wipe on all devices purchased by us. While we take all reasonable steps to ensure data is permanently erased, we do not guarantee that all data will be unrecoverable. It is your responsibility to back up and remove all personal data before selling your device to us.

Pricing

All prices for buying devices are determined based on the current market value and the condition of the device.

Limitation of Liability

Trade Wave Tech Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services, including but not limited to data loss or any issues related to the sale of a device.

Mail-In Service

If you use our mail-in service, you are responsible for packaging your device securely to prevent damage during transit. We recommend using tracked and insured postage where possible. Trade Wave Tech Ltd is not responsible for any loss or damage that occurs before the device is received by us unless shipping has been specifically arranged by us.

All quoted prices are provisional until the device has been received and inspected by our team. Devices must match the description provided at the time of valuation. We reserve the right to revise our offer if the condition or specifications of the device differ from those originally declared.

Devices sent to us must be posted within the timeframe stated in your quotation or confirmation email. Quotes may expire or be adjusted if the device is received after this period.

Inspection and Revised Offers

All devices received by Trade Wave Tech Ltd are subject to inspection and testing before payment is issued. This inspection may include checks relating to functionality, cosmetic condition, battery health, liquid damage, repairs, non-original components, activation locks, and network status.

If the device does not match the description originally provided, we may provide a revised offer. You will have a reasonable period of time to accept or reject the revised offer. If the revised offer is rejected, we may return the device to you. Return postage costs may apply unless otherwise agreed.

If we do not receive a response within the stated timeframe, we reserve the right to treat the revised offer as accepted or arrange for the device to be returned or recycled.

Activation Locks and Security Features

Before sending or selling a device to Trade Wave Tech Ltd, you must remove all personal accounts, passwords, activation locks, and security features from the device. This includes, but is not limited to, Apple iCloud and Find My iPhone, Google Factory Reset Protection (FRP), Samsung accounts, and mobile device management (MDM) locks.

Devices that remain locked may receive a reduced valuation, be rejected, or be returned at your expense. We reserve the right to delay payment until all locks and restrictions have been removed successfully.

Transfer of Ownership

Ownership of the device transfers to Trade Wave Tech Ltd once the device has been received, inspected, and payment has been issued. By accepting payment, you confirm that all rights, title, and interest in the device have been transferred to us permanently.

You further confirm that the device is your property and is not subject to any outstanding finance agreement, blacklist, insurance claim, or third-party ownership rights.

Fraud Prevention and Verification

Trade Wave Tech Ltd reserves the right to carry out identification, ownership, and fraud prevention checks before completing any transaction. We may request proof of identity, proof of purchase, or additional information relating to the device.

We reserve the right to refuse transactions, withhold payment, or report information to law enforcement agencies, network providers, insurers, or fraud prevention organisations where we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity, theft, or unlawful conduct.

For fraud prevention and quality control purposes, we may photograph, video record, or document the unpacking and inspection process of devices received through our mail-in service.

Counterfeit and Modified Devices

Devices containing counterfeit, non-original, or significantly modified components may receive a revised valuation or be rejected entirely. This includes devices with non-genuine screens, batteries, altered serial numbers, tampered IMEI numbers, or unauthorised internal modifications.

Trade Wave Tech Ltd reserves the right to refuse any device that cannot be lawfully resold, refurbished, or recycled.

Payments

Payments will normally be issued within 1–3 working days following successful inspection and approval of the device. Payment may be delayed where additional ownership, fraud, or security checks are required.

Payments will be made via bank transfer unless otherwise agreed. We reserve the right to withhold payment where a device is suspected to be stolen, counterfeit, blocked, or otherwise unlawfully obtained.

Unclaimed or Returned Devices

If a device is rejected, returned, or requires further action from you, and we are unable to contact you or receive a response within a reasonable period, we reserve the right to charge storage fees, recycle the device responsibly, or dispose of the device in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Privacy and Data Protection

Trade Wave Tech Ltd processes personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Information provided during transactions may be used for verification, fraud prevention, transaction processing, and legal compliance purposes.

Force Majeure

Trade Wave Tech Ltd shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to postal delays, courier disruptions, natural disasters, cyber incidents, industrial disputes, or interruptions to communication networks.

Governing Law

These Terms and any disputes arising from them shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Compliance with Laws

You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations when engaging in transactions with Trade Wave Tech Ltd. We reserve the right to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
